INSTRUCTIONAL OBJECTIVES:
1) To use the elements and principles of art (line, color, shape, form, texture, value, space, rhythm, dominance, balance, unity and contrast) in the creation of drawings.
2) To develop observational skills to be used in producing drawings.
3) To develop skills in various wet and dry drawing mediums.
4) To develop an appreciation for drawing through the creation of drawings and the study of drawings by famous artists.
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Students will explore a variety of wet and dry drawing mediums and techniques. They are expected to build upon the skills acquired in previous art courses to further advance their ability to communicate through visual means. Activities are planned to encourage creativity, originality and self expression in each drawing area.
WHAT STUDENTS ARE EXPECTED TO DO:
Students are expected to have an interest in drawing, be willing to use skills gained in previous art courses and be willing to explore a variety of drawing media and styles. Students are expected to be attentive and cooperative in class. Students are expected to work to the best of their ability and complete all assignments.
EVALUATION:
Students will be evaluated using the following criteria: Understanding and use of the concept taught, use of materials and supplies, creativity, originality, and effort. Letter grades
(A,B,C,D,F) will be given to all completed assignments.
