Prerequisite: Introduction to Art

CURRICULUM BENCHMARKS:

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

Students will explore the following painting mediums tempera, watercolor, acrylic and oil and produce paintings in each medium. Students will build upon the skills learned in the intro. to art class in the production of their paintings. Activities are planned to encourage creativity, originality and self‑expression in each painting area.

WHAT STUDENTS ARE EXPECTED TO DO:

Students are expected to:

·        Produce paintings in all mediums studied.

·        Be willing to use skills gained in previous art courses. 

·        Work to the best of their ability.

·        Complete all assignments.

EVALUATION:

Students will be evaluated using the following criteria:

·        Understanding and use of the concept taught.

·        Use of materials and supplies.

·        Creativity

·        Originality

·        Effort.

 Letter grades (ABCDF) will be given to all completed work.
