New Start /Release Time for 6-12StudentsBy Ms. Sue Martens Keeping our students safe while at school is a primary concern of our school board, administrators, and staff. To create a safer environment for our elementary students, who are leaving at the end of the day, we have made a change in the daily schedule for students in grades 6-12. Beginning with the 2007-2008 school year, classes for all students in grades 6-12 will start at 8:20 and end at 3:20. This will allow high school students to leave the parking lot at the end of the day before the elementary students are excused. It also allows the middle school and high school students to find seats on the bus and be settled in before the elementary students board. We are hoping that these changes will help to keep our students safe while leaving school each day. |
