HINTON COMMUNITY SCHOOL BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING

SPECIAL MEETING - MONDAY, MARCH 20, 2000

7:00 P.M. - BOARD ROOM

The Board of Directors of the Hinton Community School District met in Special Session, Monday, March 20, 2000, at 7:00 p.m. in the board room. Members Howe, Rodgers, Dittmer, Held and Sohl responded "aye" to the roll call. Superintendent Steen, Principals Hart and Stuerman, Bruce Fey, Margaret Larsen and Dave Attrill were also present.

It was moved by Dittmer to approve the 2000-2001 budget as submitted. Second was by Held and the motion carried unanimously.

It was moved by Howe to adjourn the Budget Hearing portion of the meeting. Second was by Dittmer and the motion carried unanimously.

Members Howe, Rodgers, Dittmer, Held and Sohl responded "aye" to the roll call for the Regular Meeting of the Board of Directors of the Hinton Community School District.

It was moved by Dittmer to approve the agenda as submitted. Second was by Sohl and the motion carried unanimously.

It was moved by Sohl to approve the minutes of the February 14 and February 21, 2000 board meetings. Second was by Held and the motion carried unanimously.

It was moved by Howe to approve the monthly claims totaling $59,369.57 for payment. Second was by Dittmer and the motion carried unanimously.

It was moved by Howe to approve the monthly financial statements. Second was by Held and the motion carried unanimously.

It was moved by Sohl to institute collaboration with Dr. Bill Rauhauser on the school improvement plan, especially in the area of student achievement. Second was by Howe and the motion carried unanimously.

It was moved by Sohl to approve the list of fundraisers with the following additions; soup labels, school cents, fireman's assoc., script program, hoop shoot, elementary fun night and the black hawk birdie fest. Second was by Dittmer and the motion carried unanimously.

It was moved by Held to approve two early outs, March 22nd and April 12th for the purpose of working on the Comprehensive School Improvement Plan. Second was by Howe and the motion carried unanimously.

It was moved by Dittmer to approve the priority maintenance list as a guide for future decision making. Second was by Sohl and the motion carried unanimously.

It was moved by Howe to approve the receiving and filing of the superintendent's recommendation to terminate two contracts. Second was by held and the motion carried unanimously.

It was moved by Held to approve the recommendation for insurance benefits for teachers, supervisors and support staff and to accept the recommendations for administrators for further review. Second was by Sohl and the roll call vote was as follows:

Dittmer - Aye

Held - Aye

Howe - Nay

Rodgers - Aye

Sohl - Aye

A motion was made by Held to adjourn the meeting. Second was by Dittmer and the motion carried unanimously. The meeting adjourned at 8:00 P.M. and is recorded on Tape #00-4
