SPECIAL BOARD A special board meeting of the Hinton Community School
MEETING District Board of Directors was held in the school library on 
Tuesday, July 15, 2008.
CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 7:02 p.m. by
President, Rob Held.
QUORUM Roll call was conducted by Superintendent, Al Steen.
Members Present:  Lynette Blanchard,
Rob Held, Ed Vondrak, Steve Eddy.
Members Absent:  Kenny Hoefling
OTHERS PRESENT 84 visitors were present.
WELCOME VISITORS Visitors were welcomed and invited to address the Board on any items
not on the agenda.
CONSENT ITEMS Agenda:  Motion by Vondrak, Second by Blanchard,
it was RESOLVED:  To approve the agenda.
Motion carried 4-0.
WORK SESSION Review of proposed New Elementary School Project-Superintendent Steen
reviewed how the school has gotten to where it is regarding the need for a new
elementary facility.
Update on School Board's attempt to purchase land adjacent to the current campus-President 
Held reviewed the Board's attempt to purchase 8 acres from the Annette Held family.  
President Held informed the visitors the School's offer of a total package of $400,000 was 
rejected and no counter offer was received as requested.
PUBLIC FORUM Many visitors commented on the need for a new elementary facility and their preference as to 
it's location.
ADJOURN Motion by Eddy, Second by Vondrak, it was
RESOLVED:  To adjourn the meeting at 8:58 p.m.
Motion carried 4-0.
