Hinton Round- Up

Hinton Kindergarten and Discovergarten Round-Up are scheduled for Friday, March 12, 2010.  Two sessions will be offered, with the morning session taking place from 9:00-11:00 AM, and the afternoon session from 1:00-3:00 PM. Parents are asked to register their child by calling the school (947-4327) with this initial information: the child’s full name, making sure that it is spelled correctly, address, phone number, and birth date.  Early registration is essential to reserve the session you prefer.

Discovergarten is Hinton Community School’s transitional kindergarten program. Discovergarten program provides children with an extra year in which to grow socially, cognitively, and physically.  The program is open to all students who have turned five by September 15, 2010.  The program has no charge and follows the school calendar.

If your child is 5 years of age on or before September 15, 2010, please call Linda at 947-4327.

Dental Requirement

Proof of dental exam for kindergarten students, freshman, and transfer students from another state must be turned into the nurse’s office.  If your child has not had a dental exam within the last 3 years, please schedule an appointment as soon as possible.  An Iowa Certificate of Dental Examination should be available at your dentist’s office, online on our website or my office.

H1N1 Clinic

We had a successful clinic for H1N1.  A big thank you goes out to Floyd Valley Community Health for their time to help keep our students healthy.  Floyd Valley will return to administer 2nd doses for those students under age 9.  It is recommended that they receive 2 doses at least one month apart.  The date will be available on the school website when available.  Immunization cards were sent home with students that received a dose.
