"Pay It Forward" with Project Jack
The REALTORŪ Foundation of Iowa helps people in need across the state. That tradition continues into 2017 with Project Jack. Originating in the Quad Cities area in memory of Jack Lindaman, the project gives fifth graders the opportunity to pay it forward. Jack Lindaman was born on the 4th of July. Jack was affectionately called a little firecracker. He liked to make people happy and was always a positive light to those around him despite his health issues. Jack passed away in February 2010 from spinal muscular atrophy (SMA). SMA is a disease that robs people of physical strength by affecting the motor nerve cells in the spinal cord, taking away the ability to walk, eat, or breathe. Hinton FCCLA Bound for Nationals!
On March 26, 6 Hinton FCCLA members traveled to Des Moines to start their State FCCLA experience. FCCLA who attended the meeting were seniors Bekah Breyfogle, Amanda Hamil, Alyssa Rosenbaum and Brianna Vaught and Sophomores Kaylee Ludwig and Nathan Schwaderer. The meeting began with listening to an inspirational speaker, Molly Kennedy. She spoke about taking what life throws at you and making the best of it. March 27, all members participated in the STAR (Students Taking Action with Recognition) Competition.
