Middle School Principal Announcement

Hinton Community Schools is excited to announce Melissa Wurth's appointment as the new Middle School Principal, overseeing grades 4 through 8. This decision reflects our commitment to providing exceptional leadership and fostering a positive learning environment for our students.

Melissa has been a dedicated employee of Hinton CSD since 2008, serving as a high school English teacher until 2023. Her passion for education and leadership led her to take on the role of Instructional Coach, where she has played an important part in supporting our teachers and enhancing our instructional practices.

In addition to her new role as Middle School Principal, Mrs. Wurth will continue her important work as the district's Professional Development Leader. She has been integral to the implementation of the High Reliability Schools Instructional Framework and our new initiative, Leader In Me, demonstrating her commitment to the growth and success of our students and staff.

Melissa is married to Kyle, and they have three daughters: Adalyn, Emerson, and Isabel. Her family is a vital part of her life, and she brings the same dedication and care to our school community. Mrs. Wurth expressed her enthusiasm for her new position, stating, “I’m honored to step into the role of 4-8 principal and to continue serving this incredible school and community. Our district has achieved success in a variety of areas, and I’m excited to be part of that ongoing growth both in and out of the classroom.”

We are thrilled to welcome Melissa Wurth into her new role and are confident that her leadership will greatly benefit our middle school students and staff.

Thank you,

Ken Slater
