The High 5 tunnel was extra long this Friday as the boys and girls track team welcomed students. These athletes are already off to a great season. Be sure to come out and support them at their home meet on April 24.
We are pleased to announce Aly Jurgensmeier as our new Work-Based Learning Coordinator. In this role, she will partner with local businesses to create more work-based learning and leadership opportunities for our students. #watchuslead #watchussoar
There will be a volleyball meeting on Tuesday, April 8th at 7:50 AM in Mr. Mohr's room. This is for all girls interested in playing high school volleyball in the fall.

In celebration of National Ag Week, we held our Drive Your Tractor to School event! FFA members met with 4-6 graders to talk about their tractors. We even had some preschool visitors stop by since it fit right in with their transportation theme this week.
The Hinton School Board welcomed the TK-3 students today for High 5 Friday!
Hinton FFA was one of five FFA chapters representing the Iowa Corn Growers Association at the Capitol Building in Des Moines yesterday. We learned about current legislation affecting Iowa Farmers and had an opportunity to sit in the Senate gallery and hear the Senators debate on a bill regarding glyphosate. We spent some time with Iowa's Deputy Secretary of Ag, Grant Menke. He spoke to us about his career and addressed issues relating to glyphosate, avian influenza, E85 fuel, and Iowa agriculture's impact on the United States and the world.
Last night, we had the opportunity to celebrate the top 5% of our Junior and Senior class at the War Eagle Conference Academic Banquet. Proud of our Blackhawk Scholars!

Congratulations to Morgan Divis for being elected the 2025-2026 Iowa FCCLA State President!
We would like to give a big shoutout to our Hinton Fire and Police Departments for providing a tour of the fire station today! Our 4th-6th grade Student Council members are working on a special project for the Fire Department and had the opportunity to see the equipment firsthand. Thank you, Cameron Peirce and James Conway, for your time and the tour.
Allison Hoefling was recognized for her FCCLA Champion Grilled Cheese on KCRG Channel 9 Everyday Iowa morning show! Congratulations to Allison! Way to represent Hinton!
After advancing from the fall, Allison Hoefling battled 6 other champions from across the state. She was selected by local celebrities to be overall 2025 FCCLA Grilled Cheese Champion. She will be featured on KCRG Channel 9 during their live morning show tomorrow!
