First practice for 7th/8th grade girls volleyball players is Monday, August 26th. Please change and get ready at the high school, then head down to the elementary gym after busses leave. Practice will be 3:40-5:00.

Another Iowa State Fair is in the books for these hard working FFA members! They dedicate so much of their time to prepare their animals for show day and we are so excited to showcase their accomplishments. Tate Linton has been exhibiting FFA swine since his freshman year of high school and this was his last FFA show. This year, Tate exhibited his crossbred market barrows and was the Division 1 Champion; Division 2 Reserve Champion; Division 6 Champion; and received 6th place overall in the final drive! Alayna McCarthy exhibited three lambs. In class 54H of Black Face Commercial Ewes, she was the Reserve Champion and received 5th place overall in the final drive! Congratulations!

Welcome back to the 2024-2025 school year! All high school schedule changes and WITCC add/drops will start on Wed, Aug 14. Only WITCC drops have to be done in person.

Volleyball practices are about to start! First official practice for high school will be Monday, August 12th at 8:00 AM in the elementary gym. We will have a high school parent/player meeting on Thursday, August 15th at 6:00 PM in the high school library. First practice for junior high will be Monday, August 26th at 3:30 in the elementary gym.

Several Hinton FFA members exhibited livestock and horse projects at the Plymouth County Fair last week! Congratulations to them on all of their accomplishments! Here at the results: Alayna McCarthy- Champion Blackface Breeding Ewe and Champion Breeding Ewe (overall); Champion Blackface Market Lamb and Champion Market Lamb (overall) Rylie Hermelbracht- Champion overall in Senior Games and English Horse; Champion Senior Showman Haley Copenhaver- Champion Senior Dairy Showman and second In class with her Dairy Heifer Taylor DeRocher- First in class with her Angus Breeding Heifer Sayler Jauer- Champion Breeding Simmental and Reserve Champion Senior Showman Special shout out to our students who competed in the Livestock Judging Contest at the Fair..... Sayler Jauer was on the Champion Team! Averie Vondrak, and FFA members Taylor DeRocher, Lainee Sitzmann, and Mady Hoppe were the Reserve Champion Team!

Come on out to the Plymouth County Fair this week and support the county FFA chapters by purchasing grilled cheese and milkshakes. We are located in Pioneer Village. The Hinton FFA chapter would be happy to serve you today.

Reminder: Sports physicals will be Thursday 7/25 from 1:30-4 pm. We will conduct these at the Elementary school. Please ENTER DOOR 9. (South side) if you can, please print out a physical and concussion form, which are located on the district website under athletics. The cost is $30 and will be reimbursed to the athletic department.

Congratulations to Senior Jacob Bishop for being selected to represent Iowa at the American Legion Boys Nation. Jacob is one of two Iowans selected from Iowa's Boys State to represent Iowa. https://www.legion.org/boysnation

🌟 Big step for our district today! Thanks to the SAVE funds, we've taken a major step forward by installing rooftop HVAC units. These units were purchased directly from the distributor, saving the district money. The units will boost air quality for students and staff and improve efficiency. A big win for the Hinton Blackhawks! 🌿💰
